As Services Australia moves from a client adaptor-based system to online claiming over the internet using web services, Brett Michael, Director at PowerHealth says medical software companies should use the required changes as impetus for product streamlining.

“Whilst changes are often required to ensure compliance, continuous development is at our core and we view these exercises as fantastic opportunities to develop and test product improvements.

“After many months of development work and the submission of over 1000 test cases, we are delighted that our enterprise-level patient billing system, PowerBilling and Revenue Collection (PBRC-IE) has received its certification through the Notice of Integration (NOI) for web service claiming." The strategic partnership and investment by Telstra Health will allow the PowerHealth and Telstra Health teams to collaborate to encourage an even greater level of innovation and capability in finding solutions to the complex challenges across the health and care ecosystem.

1.-portail_etalonnage — The CPSS-COVID Project

The CPSS-COVID Project uses the CPSS infrastructure to automate the daily transmission of data needed to manage this unprecedented health crisis. Sourced from more than 500 databases and 30 healthcare establishments, the data is submitted to a centralised store at the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS).

This project aims at extracting the related data from the most widely used source systems across the healthcare and social services network. Five specific areas were targeted: Wards and Beds, Admissions, Theatre, Imaging and Outpatients. The objective is to allow the MSSS to easily have a daily picture of the situation and the healthcare establishments’ capacity. This project will also make it possible to quantify the impact of the pandemic on the level of activity and better plan its recovery.

cpss-portal — CPSS: A Major Advancement in the Management of Healthcare in Quebec

The CPSS Portal is a user-friendly tool that enables province-wide analysis and comparison of financial and clinical data. It is currently used by 30 healthcare establishments, as well as the Ministry of Health and Social Services in Quebec.
With the Portal and its detailed graphics, it is now possible to analyse data on short stays, day surgery, emergency department as well as outpatient visits. Users can now query data by selecting different indicators that will provide, for instance, the average encounter costs with a surgical procedure or primary diagnosis. Beyond costs, the Portal also offers some quality-of-care indicators, providing insight to initiate discussions about best medical practices.

Le-Projet-Info-Gestion — Agile Decision Making via the Info-Gestion project in Quebec

The Info-Gestion project is an information tool built to allow quick capacity analysis and support agile decision making. Implemented in Quebec’s health and social services network in order to fulfil a specific management need expressed by the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), this centralised database makes it possible to quickly access information about the capacity of available hospital beds, especially with regards to critical care, and to identify beds in “hot” zones.

banner-pbfm-(1) — New Dashboards at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre PBRC

Dashboards are designed for quick analysis and allow users to rapidly answer important questions about their business.
At Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre dashboards were configured as part of the implementation of their new EMR to PBRC. They have been used extensively since go live and provided the confidence that the EMR – PBRC interface was working correctly, allowing any issues to be identified quickly.
