PowerHealth supports South Australian sports with ATP Challenger sponsorship
15 December 2015
PowerHealth Solutions continues to support youth sports in South Australia through its Platinum Sponsorship for the second successive year of the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger tennis tournament 2-10 January 2016 in Happy Valley, South Australia.
The City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger tennis tournament is an international event that attracts an international playing field including some well-known players, such as Marcos Baghdatis, and watched by fans all over the world through live streaming internet coverage. As the first event in the 2016 Australian tennis calender, it is well positioned for leading into the Australian Open Grand Slam in Melbourne a week later.
Organisers expect the tournament to once again attract a world-class field of players looking to gain experience and ranking points to qualify them to compete in the ATP World Tour. Nearly every top player has fought their way up through the Challengers circuit, including current No. 1 Novak Djokovic and previous No. 1 players Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt, Rafael Nadal and Pete Sampras.
Through this sponsorship, PowerHealth Solutions continues to be a top supporter of Australian youth tennis at the Happy Valley Tennis Club in their second year as ATP Challenger tournament host. The 2015 tournament was a huge hit with players who approved of the excellent facilities and well-oiled organisation. The success of the 2015 ATP Challenger tournament has led to it being short-listed for the Sport SA 2015 Significant Event of the Year award.
We need more events like this in the region. It’s good for the club and for tennis as it stimulates interest and participation in the sport.
Happy Valley Tennis Club President Simon Longhurst said, “With the assistance of major sponsorship from PowerHealth Solutions, South Australia can take to the world stage again in 2016. We need more events like this in the region. It’s good for the club and for tennis as it stimulates interest and participation in the sport.”
PowerHealth Solutions Managing Director Patrick Power said, “PowerHealth Solutions enjoys supporting our community through sporting events like the ATP Challenger. This exciting week-long tennis tournament will bring international recognition to South Australia and inject money into the region.”
South Australians will have the opportunity to watch the intense competition of world class tennis up close at the Happy Valley Tennis Club.
