PowerHealth Solutions is proud to be sponsoring the 2nd Annual Hospital Patient Costing Conference, 29-30th March 2012, at the Stamford Plaza, Brisbane.

Patient Costing and Clinical Engagement

In addition to the sponsorship, PowerHealth Solutions Senior Costing Consultant Garth Barnett will be presenting a paper entitled Patient Costing and Clinical Engagement ― It Starts With Ownership.

Garth will be speaking on the issue of clinical engagement, and how it works best by engaging clinicians right from the start, for example getting clinicians involved in setting up the costing drivers.

About Garth Barnett

Garth has had an extensive financial management career in the public healthcare system in a variety of positions. 

Starting as a Business Manager at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Garth has dabbled in many other roles, including the management of the SA Health Department’s CaseMix funding budget allocation for acute hospitals.

Garth worked his way up to Director of Financial & Business Services for the Lyell McEwin Hospital, where he was responsible for the hospital’s casemix/patient costing, as well as management accounting, financial accounting, tax accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and private practice services.

Garth believes passionately that the forging of strong working relations with clinical staff is key to good financial management.
