A motor sport promotion trailer designed by the Open-wheel Racing Car Club (ORCC) and partially fabricated by TAFE SA students, was unveiled yesterday at the Super Truck race meeting at South Australia's Mallala Motor Sport Park.
The trailer was built under a program initiated and funded by ORCC with funding assistance via a 2005 CAMS Sports Development Grant.
An open-wheel driver training car also designed by ORCC is being fabricated by students as part of the same program which among other things is aimed to encourage young South Australian men and women into critical metal trade skill development via stimulating motor sport programs.
The trailer will be used to carry display racing cars and promotion material to a variety of public venues for promotion of South Australian motorsport. It also will be used to actively promote a range of TAFE SA programs that have a motorsport component.
ORCC President Paul Venables said, This collaborative project could not have been undertaken without sports development funding assistance from CAMS.
